WALT DISNEY Visual development Artist Christophe Vacher has first one-man show for his acclaimed personal work on August 21,1998 at Galerie Morpheus of Beverly Hills.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-
Christophe Vacher, Disney Feature Animation Studios visual development and background artist, will be having his first one-man show in Los Angeles on Friday, August 21st, from 7-10/pm. The show will include over a dozen of Vacher's fantastique and mysterious paintings, as well as a number of highly rendered drawings, and signed prints.
Vacher studied art in his native France, before being brought to Los Angeles by Disney Feature Annimation to work on motion picture projects. His carefully rendered style is influenced by, and reminiscent of, the critically acclaimed French Visionary School. Vacher's stunning personal work has shown at several prominent French galleries, including the Grand Palais in Paris, and is currently also shown at the prestigious Powell Street Gallery of San Fransisco.
Vacher's feature animation credits for Disney include The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Dinosaur, Runaway Brain, and the dramatic Stavinsky finale for the upcoming Fantasia 2000. Currently, his is one of the background artists on Tarzan.
The show will take place at Galerie Morpheus in Beverly Hills, the leading publisher and exhibitor of surreal and fantastic art in the world. Vacher joins such fantastic art luminaries as Jacek Yerka and H.R. Giger in showing at the gallery this year. Gallerie Morpheus is located at 9250 Wilshire Blvd., with parking entrance on Rexford Drive. No RSVP is required. Food and beverages will be served. The artist will be in attendance.
