Some terrible news came to me while I was visiting my relatives in France: during a huge hurricane that started a very unfortunate fire, the entire city of Lahaina in Maui, Hawaii was burnt to the ground. This includes Bill Wyland Galleries and all other galleries in the city.
I lost more than two thirds of my painting inventory (twelve pieces) in the catastrophe. Of course, this is not much in comparison to people who lost their lives or their entire livelihood.
It is such an unlikely and surreal event that it is very hard to fathom and to grapple with the reality of it.
The only thing to do now is to pick up the pieces, put all this behind, and start rebuilding my inventory.

-Following its Honorable mention win at the ARC International Painting Competition, my piece “Shaman: The Visit” will be part of the Lunar Codex’s Polaris Collection launched in a time capsule on the Griffin Mission to the Moon to be archived there for eternity in November 2024.
